Application Process
Potomac College admits students who are high school graduates or who have passed the GED examination. Applicants to Potomac College must:
- Make an appointment with an admissions representative to discuss individual needs and the most expedient path to degree completion. Fill out an online application.Submit a completed application indicating your employment and academic history and transcript request form to allow Potomac College to request your transcripts from previous institutions. An official evaluation of your transfer credits will be completed once all transcripts have been received.
- Provide official or unofficial transcripts from all accredited post high school educational institutions attended.
- Submit scores from any recognized college equivalency exams (CLEP & DANTES).
- Submit all appropriate documentation of corporate training/professional development programs and/or military training. A student may be required to register with the American Council on Education (ACE) if official transcripts are not available to determine appropriate credit for corporate training programs.
- Submit an application fee with your completed application.
Graduation Requirements:
Associate of Science degree students must satisfactorily complete 63 semester credit hours, of which 33 credit hours are general education courses (11 courses) and 30 credit hours are elective courses (10 courses).
Bachelor of Science degree students must satisfactorily complete 123 semester credit hours to include all required theory and theoretical application course requirements. In addition, students must earn a minimum of 39 credits in their major program. The 39-credit residency minimum must include 10 required courses, a combination of theory and theoretical application courses, as well as the Capstone Project. Students are also required to have a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA in order to earn their degree.
