Information Systems Management
This computer science degree program is designed to provide students with the ability to manage the information resources of an organization. This course of study teaches an in-depth understanding of both management principles and the fundamentals of information systems so that students are able to function effectively in a variety of corporate settings.
The information systems management major provides students with the skills required to productively participate in and support the increasingly visible role of computer science in corporate decision making. The program of study focuses on the methods, concepts, and realistic applications of information systems in the workplace. It develops graduates’ abilities to conceptualize and direct the design and implementation of high-quality information systems through multiple disciplines related to computer science.
These resources include logical (software), physical (hardware), human (technical support specialists), and financial (budgets). The program focuses on information (data) as a resource for the organization and the technical tools and processes that can be used to manage, distribute, protect, and insure the integrity of this key asset. The Information Systems Management computer science degree program is available at both our Washington DC campus and our Herndon Virginia campus.
This specialization provides individuals with the ability to design, create, and manage a secure networking environment. Our computer security classes place an emphasis on technical, procedural, and physical information technology, risk analysis, protection techniques, recovery skills and all of the necessary skills required for computer security practices. The Cyber Security computer security degree program is available at both our Washington DC campus and our Herndon Virginia campus.

"...The projects allowed me to apply classroom theory to my current job"
"The work related projects were a valuable part of Potomac’s curriculum. The projects allowed me to apply classroom theory to my current job. My mentor, the agency director, was very impressed with the concept and the outcome of the projects. Potomac College has enabled me to fulfill a lifelong goal and has opened many doors for my future." -Susan Bellosi, Class of 2003
