Overseas business can differ drastically from American business, and individuals who are able to quickly assimilate to different cultures and embrace diverse business techniques will be the most successful in an international market. The American management style is very different from the prevailing management styles of other nations. A good international partner will do everything he or she can to become accustomed to new ways of business, and deliver new strategies in a timely and effective manner.

Being politically astute is another advantage for international business workers. Those who have a solid knowledge of the political issues affecting each nation, as well as how the nations relate to one another, will feel most comfortable in international business. As an international marketer or manager, you are representing the United States, and acting as a liaison between America and other nations.
